Paramount Skydance Set to Eliminate Approximately 2,000 American Positions – Report

Skydance Paramount is scheduled to begin significant workforce reductions the week of 27 October, cutting approximately 2,000 American roles within a budget-saving initiative valued at $2bn led by top executive David Ellison.

The layoffs follow the combination between Skydance Media and Paramount Global, completed during August valued at $8.4bn.

Additional overseas workforce reductions are anticipated, with Paramount Skydance planning to disclose complete information during its Q3 financial results set for the 10th of November.

Previous updates had indicated that Paramount aimed to cut between 2,000 and 3,000 jobs before the start of November.

By December 2024, the company retained about 18,600 permanent and temporary staff and 3,500 project-based staff.

Paramount Skydance has not provided a response on the matter.
