Several Hurt as Turbulence Strikes A Delta Airlines Flight into Sydney

Multiple passengers and crew have been injured when a Delta flight from Los Angeles to Sydney, Australia experienced rough air on Friday morning.

The flight, numbered 41 "encountered brief turbulence" as it landed at the Sydney airport, an airline spokesperson stated. A number of the onboard staff sustained injuries.

Local paramedics reported they assessed five individuals, and took a trio to hospital with relatively minor issues that included pain in the back and headaches. Those affected ranged from their 30s to 70s.

The event represents the latest incident of planes being hit by severe turbulence, with experts pointing out that shifting climate patterns is a significant contributor.

On board were 245 people and fifteen staff members on the aircraft, the representative added, clarifying that the plane touched down "safely and normally" at the airport at 6:48 a.m. local time on the day in question.

Emergency responders said they were alerted just three minutes ahead of the plane landed, and ambulances were ready and waiting at the airport.
