The Music Icon Plays a Dark Alter Ego of Herself in Satirical Film First Look

Charli XCX is getting ready for a significant cinematic presence in 2026, starting with the satirical film titled The Moment.

In the film, she portrays what she refers to as a twisted version of her own persona.

It’s the realest depiction of the music business that I’ve ever seen, the star commented.

She further explained in a discussion: It’s not a tour documentary, but the idea stemmed from the pressure to create one.

A Glimpse into The Project

The initial preview, unveiled on Thursday, mixes real clips from Charli’s Sweat tour with made-up behind-the-scenes moments.

The Moment is directed and co-written by Aidan Zamiri, who shared that the narrative centers on a reality where the singer opted for alternate decisions throughout the marketing of her hugely successful record Brat.

Additionally took on her own role in the humorous show Overcompensating.

Upcoming Projects

The coming year will also feature the artist with Olivia Wilde in romantic thriller I Want Your Sex, Natalie Portman in gallery suspense The Gallerist, and Barbie Ferreira in horror remake Faces of Death.

She also signed on to appear in Dakota Johnson’s first film as director A Tree in Blue.

I am really enjoying my cinematic path, Charli expressed. I’m highly enthusiastic currently in acting, and I only ever choose to take on roles that stimulate me.

Soundtrack Involvement

February will also include the release of the filmmaker’s version of Wuthering Heights, which will feature fresh tracks from Charli.

She is also set to compose the score for the drama Mother Mary, featuring Anne Hathaway and Michaela Coel, scheduled for release in the coming year.
